Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood to Celebrate Thanksgiving with Special Episodes
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, PBS Kids new animated series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, which was inspired by the legacy of Fred Rogers, will be airing two very special Thanksgiving episodes on November 19 and exactly on Thanksgiving Day.
The first seasonal episode consists of “Be a Vegetable Taster!,” in which Daniel and his friends are introduced by Teacher Harriet to the school’s vegetable garden and convinces them to pick out some healthy veggies for their snack. Followed by “Daniel Tries a New Food”, in which Miss Elaina encourages Daniel to try some new food: Veggie Spaghetti and Banana Swirl.
The next seasonal episode, which airs on November 22, consists of “Thank You, Grandpere Tiger!,” in which the titular grandfather of Daniel Tiger drops by for a short visit. Daniel is sad that Grandpere can’t come to the special Thank You Day celebration later that day, but eventually learns to be thankful for the time they DO have together. It is followed by “Neighborhood Thank You Day,” which has the neighborhood celebrating Thank You Day by putting notes in the Thank You Tree. Daniel has trouble deciding what to put in his note. Then, when a gust of wind blows the notes off of the tree, Mr. McFeely saves the day by catching and delivering everybody’s thank you notes!
