It’s one of the most adorable CG animated films of 2010, and it didn’t came from Pixar – Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me is now ready to give you another dose of fun, family-friendly experience as Gru, together with Margo, Edith, Agnes and a truckload of cute yellow minions return in Despicable Me 2, scheduled for release in theaters on July 3, 2013.
It’s still a year and a few months away, but marketing for Despicable Me 2 is now underway as Universal Partnership and Licensing, together with Illumination Entertainment, have awarded Thinkway Toys with the global master toy license for the upcoming sequel. Thinkway Toys is planning to develop a wide variety of toys that will feature the very popular Minions as well as the other key characters. The toylines and merchandise are expected to arrive on the market in summer this year, all throughout 2013 in time for the movie’s premiere. Universal Orlando Resort, on the other hand, has started a 3D Theme Park attraction based on Despicable Me.
