Despicable Me’s Minions Sing Banana (and its original version)

Despicable Me's Minions Sing Banana (and its original version)
It’s been around for quite some time (heck, we even featured it on Toonbarn the day it was released on the net), but The Minion’s Banana Song is pretty much still one of the most entertaining (and catchy!) music videos on the Internet. So I figured, it’s time to show it again, this time in HD:

But how many of you are familiar with the original song behind the Minions’ Laugh Out Loud version? I bring you the Beach Boys’ classic tune, Barbara Ann:

As you can see, while the melody is pretty much intact, the Minions took creative liberty with the lyrics, replacing almost every single word with their own language, which seems to be a mixture of high speed gibberish and potassium-rich food.

It’s still quite some time before we get the release of Despicable Me 2 (2013!), so I guess the Banana song is enough for now, helps tide us over until we get the return of Gru and his lively little yellow minions.

Neil Raymundo

A cowardly and treacherous Toonbarn blogger who can transform into a McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle. Secretly wants to replace Toonbarn Rob as leader of the Decepticons.
