Disney Junior Options Development Rights to Fancy Nancy

Disney Junior has recently acquired the rights to develop an original animated TV movie and series based on Jane O’Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser’s New York Times bestselling book Fancy Nancy, which has already entered its 10th year of publication consisting of over 60 titles targeted towards kids aged 2 to 7.

Fancy Nancy focuses on the adventures of the titular girl who likes to be “fancy” in everything that she does, from the clothes she wears all the way to the way she speaks. The books champions self-expression and love for one’s family, and has already won numerous awards including 2008’s Book Character of the Year from Global License.

Disney Junior has also optioned the rights to develop role play items and other licensed products via their Disney Consumer Products arm.
