Disney Junior Welcomes Puppy Dog Tails, Vampirina

Two new animated series has been ordered by Disney Junior. Nancy Kanter, General Manager of Disney Junior Worldwide and EVP of Original Programming announced that the two new series are included in the 2nd season orders for Goldie & Bear and The Lion Guard. The new shows are Puppy Dog Tails, created by Harland Williams and Vampirina, executively produced by Chris Nee (Doc McStuffins). The two series are currently in production and will debut in 2017.

Created by actor and comedian Harland Williams, Puppy Dog Tails follows the playful puppies Rolly and Bingo, whose thrill-seeking appetite cravings take them on everyday adventures around the neighborhood. Harland Williams is also the consulting producer, with story editor Dean Batali (That ‘70s Show) and executive producer Sean Coyle (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, The Awesomes). Puppy Dog Tails is produced with Wild Canary together with Disney Junior.
Vampirina was inspired by the kid’s book series Vampirina Ballerina by Disney Publishing. It tells the tale of a young vampire girl who meets the trials and joys of being the new kid in town. A lot of key creatives who are behind Doc McStuffins (Peabody Award-winning series) are part of Vampirina, including executive producer Chris Nee and co-executive producer Norton Virgien. It is directed by Nicky Phelan (Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty) and produced by Brown Bag Films in association with Disney Junior.

Produced by Disney Television Animation, The Lion Guard was launched in January and placed as number 1 series across preschool networks in preschoolers 2-5 and Total Viewers for 2 consecutive months. It also ranked among the month Top 10 series with children 2-5 across all cable television networks last month. Goldie & Bar is produced by Titmouse in association with Disney Junior.
