Disney Publishing Debuts Brave Apps for the iPad

In support of the premiere of Disney/Pixar’s CG animated film Brave this Friday, June 22, Disney Publishing Worldwide has launched two new apps based on Merida’s exploits. The two apps, which are available for iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, consist of Brave: Storybook Deluxe and Brave Interactive Comic.

Sadly, the apps are not free, but the prices are reasonable considering that most apps rarely cost more than a tenner. The first of the apps, Brave: Storybook Deluxe is worth $6.99 and offers a full retelling of the movie in storybook format for kids aged 5 and up. The app also comes with an archery minigame in which Merida and Angus disover the meaning of bravery as they gallop through the woods shooting at makeshift targets with their bow and arrow.

Brave Interactive Comic, on the other hand, is priced at $1.99 and is an interactive graphic novel aimed towards K7-12, that retells the movie in an interactive comic book format that features special effects, music, and sounds, as well as interactive/tappable content such as video clips, sketches, and step by step drawing lessons.
