Disney XD’s MotorCity Revs Up

Fans of shows like Metalocalypse and Megas XLR already know what to expect from the multi talented and creative Chris Prynoski, but longtime fan or not, fans of action cartoons and car culture owe it to themselves to check out Prynoski’s MotorCity, which debuts on Disney XD this April.

The fast-paced, action packed series follows the exploits of Michael Chilton, who is leading a band of rebels called the Burners and fighting a war against Abraham Kane, a corrupt billionaire who has bought and transformed the city of Detroit Deluxe into an oppressive city-state, cutting down on personal freedoms and banning cars in his attempt to do so.

Motorcity’s voice cast includes Reid Scott, Nate Torrence, Kel Mitchell, Jess Harnell, Brian Doyle Murray, Jim Breuer, and heavyweights such as Mark Hamill and Twisted Sister’s Dee Snyder.

Prynoski will serve as executive producer and director, while story editing will beh andled by Craif Lewis of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. John O’Bryan of Avatar: The Last Airbender and George Krstic will be the regular staff writers.

I’m not sure of the exact dietals, but it happened something like this.a0a0a0a0a0Walt Disney was still early in his animating career.a0He needed a character to use, soa0he tried toa0get the rights to usea0some rabbit guy that was popular back then, but the company didn’t let him. On the train ride back home, he needed a new character, and fast.a0 So he came up with Mortimer Mouse. He went home and told his wife about it. She thought that Mortimer wasn’t a very friendly name. She suggested Mickey, and Walt liked it. And that’s how he came up with Mickey.a0a0a0a0
