It has already been confirmed late last year that Disney’s holiday 2013 feature entitled ‘Frozen’ will be an adaptation of the classic Snow Queen Fairy Tale, but new details have been announced and among them is confirmation that the holiday feature will use Computer Generated, instead of traditional cel animation.
The movie, based on Hans Christian Andersen’ classic tale, has been in development for many years and have suffered numerous setbacks before the 2013 release date was finalized. According to Slashfilm.com, the project was already in development for at least a decade but was shelved by Disney back in 2002. One of the key people in the project, Glen Keane, quit the feature in 2003, which led to the project being postponed again until March 2010. Composer Alan Menken was also slated to be the composer for the film before it was shelved. The movie is now greenlit and scheduled for a November 27, 2013 release.
