Disney’s Wreck-it-Ralph to Feature Videogame Cameos

According to a recent announcement by Disney, their upcoming holiday movie Wreck-it-Ralph will contain appearances of iconic videogame characters from big companies such as Nintendo, Midway Games, Sega, and many more. It should be noted that the filmmakers had already hinted in the past that they were trying to secure rights to use existing videogame characters for the movie, but this recent announcement seems to confirm that they were successful.

Wreck-it-Ralph’s story revolves around a 1980s arcade game character who grew tired of being the bad guy, and decided to venture into other games in order to become a hero. The list of confirmed videogame characters that will make a cameo include: Super Mario Bros. Doctor Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog, Kano from Mortal Kombat, a Ghost from Pac-Man, Zangief from Street Fighter and Coily the Snake from Q*bert. Wreck-It Ralph will be released on Nov. 2, 2012, competing against DreamWorks Animation’s Rise of the Guardians.
