2016 seems to be the year in which many Japanese and arcade/console-exclusive games finally made their way to the PC platform via Valve’s Steam distribution service. Cave’s bullet hell SHMUP DoDonPachi Resurrection seems to tick both boxes properly, as it is both a Japanese game with anime-inspired visuals and was only recently made available on the Xbox 360. And now it’s also coming to PC players through Steam, with a release date penciled in for October 14th, 2016.
DoDonPachi Resurrection will feature a number of different ship variations, 8 different game modes, and two-player local co-op. It also boasts of its Hyper Counter System, which allows players to cancel bullets. The release also takes advantage of many Steam features, such as cloud saves, leaderboards, “cheevs”, and Steam trading cards.
If you prefer to be mobile, DoDonPachi Resurrection is also slated for iOS and Android.
