Dr. Seuss' The Lorax hits theaters March 2nd

Four months from today, the world gets Seussed. No no, it’s a good thing! Dr. Seuss, one of the most famously vivid and creative authors of our time, would be celebrating a 108th birthday on March 2nd, 2012. To properly pay homage to his legend, Illumination Entertainment is teaming with Universal Pictures to bring the world one of his greatest creations in movie form: The Lorax. The CG animated, 3D film is based on the book of the same name – just as Horton Hears a Who did a few years back. The story follows Ted, an idealistic young boy, who tries to find the one thing that will win him affection of Audrey the girl of his dreams. Isn’t that always the way? To accomplish his goal, Ted must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world. Meanwhile, we must discover the brand new teaser trailer showing off the work in progress!

The project has been at work for several years now, so we’re thrilled to finally see some of the final animation. Mixing the vivid imagination and colors of the world of Seuss with CG and 3D could be an amazingly powerful experience. Especially with a cast as well rounded and developed as the Lorax appears to have:

Danny DeVito as The Lorax
Zac Efron as Ted
Ed Helms as The Once-ler
Rob Riggle as O’Hare
Betty White as Grammy Norma
Taylor Swift as Audrey
