DreamWorks Animation has recently inked a multi-year deal with Germany’s Super RTL, with the deal seeing the former supply the latter with over 1,200 hours of programming all the way through 2020. Super RTL is currently considered as one of the most watched children’s channel in Europe.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, DWA head Jeffrey Katzenberg and Super RTL managing director Claude Schmit closed the deal during the LA Screenings. The new deal will let Super RTL fill its schedule even after its programming deal with Disney expires at the end of the year.
The DreamWorks deal includes programming from DWA’s $155 million purchase of Classic Media last year, that included the rights to hundreds of hours of classic kids TV, including titles such as Lassie, The Lone Ranger and George of the Jungle.
