Capcom and Wayforward’s HD remaster of the classic NES platformer Ducktales was a digital download title for the PC and current gen consoles, which is fine for people who just want to play the game but a travesty to people who wanted a tangible copy, maybe so that they can display it alongside their perfectly preserved NES cart of the original. If you’re one of these people, you will be glad to know that a boxed copy of Ducktales Remastered will be making its way to retail outlets on November 12.
Available for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U, the boxed version will retail for $19.99. There’s no word yet on whether the boxed copy will be stand alone or will require online activation like most games these days. Ducktales Remastered is single-player oriented, so there’s no reason to think that it will depend on online multiplayer for DRM. Let’s hope they just stick a copy of the game in the box like they used to do in the old days.
