Award-winning actress Jane Fonda will be the voice behind the evil sorceress in the upcoming TV movie Elena and the Secret of Avalor, which will premiere as a special simulcast on November 20, Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Junior and Disney Channel. The film will also debut the same day on the Disney Channel VOD and the channel’s respective apps.
Elena and the Secret of Avalor is about the thrilling backstory of Elena’s imprisonment in her magical amulet by Shuriki (Fonda), the evil sorceress and ultimately set free by Princess Sofia of Enchancia. My Time, an original song by Aimee Carrero (Princess Elena) will be launched in the special.
Aside rom Fonda and Carrero, the TV-movie’s voice cast includes Sara Ramirez (Queen Miranda), Ariel Winter (Sofia), Yvette Nicole Brown, Chris Parnell and Carlos Alazraqui as the jaquins Migs, Luna and Skylar, respectively; Ana Ortiz (Rafa), Travis Willingham (King Roland), Jenna Ortega (Princess Isabel), Tyler Merna (Prince James), Darcy Rose Byrnes (Princess Amber), Barbara Dirickson (Flora), Emiliano Diez (Francisco), Christian Lanz (Chancellor Esteban), Julia Vera (Luisa), Joseph Haro (Mateo), Jillian Rose Reed (Naomi), Jorge Diaz (Gabe), Joe Nunez (Armando) and Keith Ferguson (Zuzo).
The creative teams of Elena of Avalor and Sofia the First collaborations for the TV movie which is directed by Jamie Mitchell and Craig Gerber. Kevin Kliesch serves as the composer while John Kavanaugh is the music director/songwriter.
Disney Publishing will be releasing a hardcover picture book entitled Elena of Avalor: Elena and the Secret of Avalor on October 18.
