Ella the Elegant Elephant Book Series Adapted for TV
Carmela and Steve D’Amico’s Ella the Elegant Elephant book series is finally getting adapted for the small screens, with Cookie Jar Entertainment and FremantleMedia Enterprises joining forces to take advantage of the TV distribution and merchandising rights to a 26×30 min per episode cartoon based on the award-winning children’s book.
Tentatively titled as Ella the Elephant, the show follows the story of sweet, optimistic, and thoughtful little elephant named Ella. With her positive outlook on life, her creativity, and a magic hat, Ella always finds a way to help her friends. The show will use CGI on top of 2D backgrounds, and is scheduled to debut on North American shores in 2013, through the Disney Junior channel. Cookie Jar has also awarded Warner Home Video with NA home entertainment rights to Ella the Elephant, which means we will eventually get home entertainment format releases of the series courtesy of Warner Home Video.
