As the Spring TV Schedule starts to fill up, several long running shows also choose to leave the air and open their spot up to new ones. The most recently announced one, at least as far as anime is concerned, is the adaptation of Hiro Mashima’s hit manga Fairy Tail, with a magazine declaring that the last episode will be episode 175, which airs this coming March 30.
Hiro Mashima responded through Twitter and stated that he can’t reveal further details yet, but he assures fans that there will be good news coming, and that they should stand by for further announcements.
It should be noted that unlike Tite Kubo’s Bleach, the Fairy Tail manga is not yet in its final arc, so it’s perfectly okay to suspect that the reason for the anime ending is that it’s already gotten to close to where the manga is at right now. Because they couldn’t bother with a lame filler story like Bleach did with the Bount and the Bakkōtō fillers.
