Fast & Furious Franchise Gets a Cartoon Spin-Off
Vin Diesel’s massively successful Fast & Furious franchise shows no sign of slowing down. With all of the blockbuster films under its belt, the car-loving film property is also revving up to take a slice out of the lucrative Kids’ Entertainment pie. According to recent reports, the franchise will get a 3D animated series adaptation titled Fast & Furious: Spy Racers.
Slated to debut on Netflix in December 26, Fast & Furious: Spy Racers will follow the adventures of Dom Toretto’s teenage cousin, Tony. The teenage tailgater and his friends will accept an invite from a government agency, under which they get the unenviable task of infiltrating an elite racing league. The exciting part is that this racing league is merely a front for an evil world-conquering crime organization called SH1FT3R.
As expected of a CG animated kid’s series, Fast & Furious: Spy Racers will feature lighter stories and will probably avoid a huge chunk of the mature topic tackled in the films. What viewers can expect is a focus on cars. Tons of gorgeous, expensive, and unattainable cars.
