The production of Kingsglave: Final Fantasy XV has been announced by Square Enix. Based on the RPG videogame, the CG-animated, feature-length film tells a tale that runs simultaneously with the game’s. The project is being directed by Takeshi Nozue, who also co-directed Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. According to Nozue, the core team who worked on Kingsglave is also the one who worked on Advent Children.
The new film features voice performances by Sean Bean (Ned Stark), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and Aaron Paul.
The Final Fantasy XV game follows Noctis but the story of the Kingsglave film will focus on King Regis, his father, in a parallel narrative. In the game, Noctis leaves from the capital city on an amazing journey together with his 3 friends, while the film tells what happens to his father back in Crown City after he runs off. According to Square Enix, the movie is planned for release this year.
