Earlier this month, TBS renewed its intergalactic adult comedy Final Space for a second season. Produced by Conan O’Brien’s Conaco and New Form in association with Turner’s Studio T, the series debuted on the channel on February 26th. On Twitter, series creator Olan Rogers said he expects the new episodes to debut sometime in 2019. He also added that the episode order has expanded from season one’s 10 episodes, to 13.
According to TBS, the first season of Final Space attracted the channel’s youngest audience for an original series. Across linear, video-on-demand and digital platforms, the show has be seen by over 20 million viewers.
If you’re unfamiliar with the show, here’s a plot synopsis:
An astronaut named Gary and his planet-destroying sidekick called Mooncake embark on serialized journeys through space in order to unlock the mystery of where the universe actually ends and if it actually does exist.
The animation for Final Space is produced by ShadowMachine in Los Angeles, with service animation provided by Ottawa’s Jam Filled.
