First Footage for Sonic Forces


While Sonic the Hedgehog fans may have suffered a huge blow with the news that the long-awaited Sonic Mania has been delayed, there’s been a small consolation by way of new footage for the mysterious “2017 Sonic Game,” which has now been revealed to be called “Sonic Forces.”

The footage contains gameplay video and was initially unveiled by Sega themselves during SXSW. Unlike Sonic Mania, which harkens back to the franchise’s roots as a 2D sidescrolling platformer, Sonic Forces is more in line with modern iterations like Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. You can take a look at how a current gen Sonic looks in the footage below:

Additionally, there’s also a footage of Sonic Mania’s Flying Battery Zone released, just in case you still prefer looking at 2D sidescrolling Sonic:
