First Screenshots for Gundam Side Story: Missing Link

Most gamers these days are only familiar with the 3rd person free-for-alls from Namco Bandai, but back in the days of the Sega Saturn and the Dreamcast, there was also Gundam Side Story 0079, which is a little bit more realistic in its portrayal of a Gundam as it puts gamers in the perspective of someone in the cockpit of a mobile suit. This means less boosting around and sobering mobile suits like a badass mofo and more driving around and turret-like controls. It’s basically more Mech Warriors than Gundam vs. Gundam Next Plus.

If that kind of Gundam-piloting gameplay is more your speed, the Playstation 3 will be getting a new installment of the Side Story franchise, titled Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Missing Link. The game will let players take control of the series’ notable Gundams (including the RX-series) but will also offer the ability to personalize and customize the suits.
