Fox Animation Secures Rights to Momotaro: Xander of the Island of Lost Monsters

As part of Fox Animation’s campaign to secure kids’ and youth book rights, the studio has picked up Margaret Dilloway’s Momotaro: Xander and the Island of Lost Monsters and they are planning to adapt it into a fully animated feature.

Momotaro: Xander of the Island of Lost Monsters is published by Disney-Hyperion and features illustrations by Choong Yoon. This children’s fantasy story is inspired by the author’s Japanese heritage, and follows a creative sixth grader named Xander Miyamoto as he discovers a strange comic book that prophesizes the biggest adventure in the boy’s lives – a journey rife with danger, strange monsters, and folkoric tests of their mettle.

The Fox Animation adaptation is currently still seeking a scriptwriter.
