Frankenweenie to Premiere at Austin's Fantastic Fest

Tim Burton’s upcoming stop motion film FrankenWeenie will be having its world premiere at the 2012 Fantastic Festvial, which is held at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas on September 20. The entire festival will feature a whole slew of new and exciting sci fi and fantasy movies and shorts, and will run from September 20 to 27 in Austin.

Tim Burton stands as a titan of modern genre cinema. To world premiere the feature adaptation of his early beloved short is a huge honor for me personally and for the festival in general,” said Fantastic Fest Co-founder & Creative Director Tim League.

Based on an original short by Tim Burtom himself, Brankenweenie is presented by Disney, directed by Tim Burton, and produced by Allion Abbate with Burton. The voice cast includes Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Atticus Shaffer, Robert Capron, Conchata Ferrell and Winona Ryder.

Frankenweenie’s US opening will be on October 5, 2012. For more details, you can visit the official site at Disney.go.com/frankenweenie.
