New Gundam Visual Project Launch to be Streamed on July 2

According to a recent announcement from Bandai, the launch event for the new Gundam visual project will be held on 7:59 pm, July 1st (PST), 11:59 am, July 2nd (JST), and will be live-streamed simultaneously on the project’s special site, and the official Bandai Channel: Minna de Stream. While the event will be opened for the press, fans will not be allowed to attend.

The special site for the project has also gone live, featuring two images of two gundams and the words “1/144 GUNDAM Kidou.” Kidou/機動” is the first two Chinese characters of the original Japanese title for the first TV series in 1979-1980, Kidou Senshi Gundam/機動戦士ガンダム, (Mobile Suit Gundam).

There is no mention of what the new visual project is so it’s not necessarily a new anime series. One key point of interest is that the word “1/44” could refer to the scale used for Gunpla kits. So there is a chance that the new visual project could be related to the hobby.
