Harry Potter Gets a Kinect Videogame
Fans of Harry Potter who own an Xbox360 and a Kinect will now get a chance to experience the world of J.K. Rowling’s hit novel and movie franchise to the best that technology can offer. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Eurocom has joined forces to introduce the Harry Potter for Kinect videogame, which is exclusive to the xbox 360 system.
The Harry Potter Kinect game will be based on all eight Harry Potter movies, and will let players join Harry, Ron, and Hermione on various adventures. Players are given the choice of controlling any of the main characters or use the Kinect to scan their face and create a unique witch or wizard based on their likeness. Additionally, the Kinect’s hands-free and voice recognition capabilities lets gamers cast spells using physical maneuvers or by calling out the spell names.
“Harry Potter for Kinect will engage Harry Potter fans old and new by bringing them into the wizarding world as truly active participants,” said Samantha Ryan, senior vice president of production and development at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Kids and parents will enjoy recreating their favorite Harry Potter adventures, from flying a broomstick in a Quidditch match, to battling pixies and duelling other wizards.”
