Harvey Birdman returns to court with new special
Adult Swim has announced a new half-hour TV special based on its classic series Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. Created and executive produced by series creators Michael Ouweleen and Erik Richter, with Richard Ferguson-Hull and Evan Adler also serving as executive producers, Harvey Birdman, Attorney General is due out this fall.
In a stunning announcement, even for this administration, megalomaniac billionaire President Phil Ken Sebben announced today that Harvey Birdman will be this country’s next Attorney General.
In his new role, it’s up to Harvey Birdman to find a way to remove President Phil Ken Sebben from office, before everyone starts to worry it’s more than the ridiculous plot to an animated show.
The entire voice cast behind the series will return for the special, including Gary Cole as the avian attorney, Stephen Colbert as Phil Ken Sebben, John Michael Higgins as Mentok, Paget Brewster as Birdgirl, Chris Edgerly as Peter Potamus, Peter MacNicol as X the Eliminator, and Phil LaMarr as Black Vulcan.
Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law debuted on Adult Swim in 2000, as both a spinoff to the satirical talk show Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and a parody of the 1967-1969 Hanna-Barbera series Birdman and the Galaxy Trio. The show featured the former superhero now having to take on the “normal” job of being a lawyer to other cartoon characters. The show ran 39 episodes before concluding in 2007.
