Henry Selick’s Shadow King Project Restarted

One of the recent Disney moves that left a lot of fans shaking their heads is the cancellation of Henry Selick (Coraline)’s much anticipated feature “The Shadow King”, but said fans can stop shaking their head now, as the project will be resuming thanks to producer Josh Penn and the German/UK sales and distribution outfit K5 International.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the stop-motion animated feature from Selick is already well into pre-production, K5 is overseeing international sales on the project and will be pitching it to buyers via the European Film Market in Berlin this week.

The Shadow King focuses on a nine year old orphan in New York, Hap, who possesses fantastically long fingers that he feels he must hide from the rest of the world. When a living shadow girl shows him how he can use his hands to make his hand shadows come to life, Hap’s fingers become powerful weapons in a shadow war against a monster bent on killing his brother Richard and destroying New York itself.
