Henson Independent Properties Signs New Partnership for Elias, Lily

The third party licensing and distribution label under the Jim Henson Company, Henson Independent Properties (HIP) has signed new broadcast and digital license deals for Elias: Rescue Team Adventures and Lily’s Driftwood Bay.
Vme TV has obtained exclusive basic cable rights to Elias: Rescue Team Adventures for the U.S. Hispanic market. The show has also been picked up by Media Corp (exc. Free TV, Singapore), POD Worldwide (exclusive free TV, Thailand) and Tring TV (free TV, basic satellite, basic cable, Albania), which will join existing partners MTV Oy (Finland), TG4 (Ireland), United Home Entertainment (Thailand) and SVT (Sweden).

The global educational rights for Lily’s Driftwood Bay have been snatched by Discovery Education. NCircle has also acquired the rights for the U.S., DAAI TV has exclusive free TV rights for Multichoice Africa and Indonesia has non-exclusive AVOD and SVOD rights for Africa.

Elias: Rescue Team Adventures is a preschool series (CG animated) that is produced by Iceland’s Caoz Animation and Norway’s Animando. It follows the playful and brave little rescue boat Elias, which is based on the famous children’s picture books by Sigurd Slatterbrekk and Alf Knutsen. Elias, his fellow harbor vessels together with their friend Helinore the helicopter get on adventures that encourage young viewers to discover their worlds with courage and confidence while learning about cooperation, safety, bravery and community.

Lily’s Driftwood Bay is a mixed-media animated series aimed for children aged 4-6. Produced by Sixteen South in Northern Ireland, the series follows Lily, a 5-year-old girl who uses her imagination and creativity to produce amazing adventures and colorful characters that are inspired by the unusual objects she finds washed ashore. Colin Williams (EP of Big and Small, producer of Pajanimals) created and directed the series and Sam Barlow (Bob the Builder, Thomas and Friends) served as the editor of the script. It features a voice cast including Richard Dormer, Stephen Fry, Peter Mullan.
