The New Stuff

Hot Streets premieres on Adult Swim this weekend

Late night absurdist comedy block Adult Swim is about to add a new show to the mix. Coming from the mind of former Rick and Morty and Robot Chicken writer comes Brian Wysol comes Hot Streets. The show surrounds the supernatural investigations of FBI agent Mark Branski, who works with his partner David French, Branski’s niece Jen, and her cowardly talking dog, Chubbie Webbers.

The series was initially concocted by Wysol in 2012 after creating the “We Solved the Crime,” and “Hot Cross Buns” for the Channel 101 film festival back in 2011. He was then scouted to help write Robot Chicken before getting the chance to pitch his own series. Hot Streets’ pilot aired on the channel in 2016 before the series was picked up for a series order last March.

Justin Roiland, who co-created Rick and Morty, plays Chubbie. J.D. Ryznar is Mark Branski. Scott Chernoff and Chelsea Kane play David French and Jen, respectively. The series is produced by Williams Street, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, and Justin Roiland’s Solo Vanity Card Productions.

Hot Streets debuts Sunday, January 14th at midnight ET on Adult Swim.
