It seems like it wasn’t so long ago when Hub Network was still called The Hub, but now the network is going to undergo yet another change. Only this time, it goes beyond simply changing names: according to the official announcement, the Hub Network will be rebranding itself into Discovery Family effective by October 13.
As a result of the change, the network will start diversifying its programming in order to cater to families in primetime while still showcasing Hasbro Studios’ popular kid-target content during daytime. The channel will continue to be a joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro, with the former taking 60 percent ownership position, decreasing the latter’s share to 40 percent.
Fans of Hub Network’s popular shows like MLP, Littlest Pet Shop, and Transformers Rescue Bots don’t need to worry, as they will continue to air during daytime programming.
