Hunter x Hunter Movie Greenlit

Hunter x Hunter may already have two anime series under its belt, but it’s always been lacking when it comes to full length movies. It doesn’t even have an OVA. It’s a shortcoming that is especially glaring considering most of its Shonen Jump brethren already have movies (some of them even have two or more) to brag about.

But in a recent report by Mantan Web (via 0takomu), it has been revealed that an animated Hunter x Hunter movie was recently green lit. The movie is said to have a completely original story, and will not be related to the manga or anime’s, but the people involved in the manga have already given it their approval.

For more details, you can wait for Issue 16 of Shonen Jump, as it will contain an announcement from Yshihiro Togashi himself regarding the movie.
