Hunter X Hunter’s English Dub to Debut on Toonami
Adult Swim and VIZ Media have collaborated to bring a new English dub of Hunter X Hunter to the U.S. The supernatural adventure anime will debut on Saturday, April 16 at 1 a.m. ET/PT during Adult Swim’s Toonami block.
Hunter X Hunter, the newest anime property in VIZ Media catalog was produced by MADHOUSE in 2011 and produced on Nippon TV in Japan. The series reboots the famous manga series of the same name by Yoshihiro Togashi. The English dub cast includes Cristina Vee (Killua Zoldyck), Erica Mendez (Gon Freecss), Keith Silverstein (Hisoka), Matthew Mercer (Leorio) adn Erika Harlacher (Kurapika).
The series is set in a world showered with abundant hidden treasures, riches, exotic creatures and fearsome monsters where Hunters are an extraordinary class dedicated to hunting down these marvels. The story focuses on Gon, a young boy who embarks an epic quest to be a Pro Hunter, encountering other exam applicants along the way.
VIZ Media is the official distributor of the Hunter X Hunter anime series in North America and holds the digital streaming rights, broadcasting rights, merchandising rights and home video rights to the series.
