IDW to Extend Samurai Jack Comic Book’s Run
This is actually old news, as IDW has announced that they would be releasing a new comic book based on the old Cartoon Network series Samurai Jack. However, recent developments in the project make it worth mentioning again, as IDW has announced that they would be increasing the minimum commitment to ten issues, from the originally planned five, after positive fan response and strong sales for the first issue (which was released last October 23.
The Samurai Jack comic book’s story, titled The Threads of Time, picks up where the Cartoon Network series left off when it was cancelled after four seasons a few years ago. The series was originally created by industry veteran Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls) and focused on a time-displaced samurai warrior named Jack, who’s only chance to get back to his own time is to defeat the demonic sorcerer Aku.
