Netherrealms’ DC-based fighting game Injustice 2 seems to be doing better than its predecessor, having made a commercially successful PC release and making its way to this year’s EVO (Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, on the other hand, did not.) The mobile version might not be as successful as the PC and console ports due to the stripped-down, simplified mechanics, but it still commands a decent following and it may see a surge in popularity soon as Warner Bros. is celebrating Superman’s 80th anniversary by releasing a new character: Classic Superman.
This new character is notable because it completely mimics the look of the classic Superman that first appeared in the pages of Action Comics #1, even relying on a cel-shaded art style that makes it look like the character is ripped straight out of the pages of a comic. As you can see from the image, even his attacks take on a 2D comic book-style appearance. Aside from the visuals, it has been said that Classic Superman will also differ from the normal Injustice 2 Superman when it comes to moveset, strengths, and weaknesses.
