J.K. Rowling Launches Harry Potter Reading club
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling will be taking part in a worldwide webcast hosted by Scholastic.com on October 11, 2012 at 12n. The webcast will be done in support of the new Harry Potter Reading Club, which will be launched on the same day.
The webcast will be presented by the Harry Potter Reading Club, and will be broadcast live all over the world as it takes Rowling virtually, from her home in Edinburg, Scotland, straight into classrooms all over the US in order to talk about Harry Potter and all the projects that came out of the novel, including the new online destination, Pottermore.com.
Educators who want their class to take part in the webcast can sign up now at the official site: Scholastic.com/hpreadingclub. The Harry Potter Reading Club will provide librarians, educators, and school programs and parents the necessary tools for hosting their own Harry Potter reading club, including discussion guides for each book, a live Twitter feed (#hpREAD), and teacher tips, contests, and other things. The first 10,000 registrants for the Club will receive a welcome kit including bookmarks, stickers and nametags.
