The mega popular animated series Jake and the Never Land Pirates’s third season has been ordered by Disney Junior, which will bump up the episode tally to 100. Produced by Disney Television Animation and broadcast daily during the Disney Junior television programming block, the series is also planned to be featured on the new 24 hr Disney Junior channel that will launch in the US this coming March.
Jake and the Neverland Pirates is currently Disney’s #1 series among boys 2-5, as it revolves around a crew of kid pirates led by Jake and pals Izzy and Cubby. The crew goes on adventures around Never Land and constantly bump heads with two infamous characters – Captain Hook and Mister Smee (from Disney’s Classic Peter Pan). The series is perfect for kids as it emphasizes the importance of friendship, socializing, and teamwork.
“The series is connecting with kids on every level and brings them closer to characters they’re already familiar with and introduces them to new, original characters they have made their friends,” says Nancy Kanter, Senior VP of original programming and general manager at Disney Junior Worldwide. “The storytelling is adventurous and heartfelt and embeds the kind of learning that we know is important to parents.”
