John Cena to Host Nickelodeon’s 2017 Kid’s Choice Awards
On March 11, 2017 at 8-9:30 PM, Nickelodeon will be airing the 2017 Kid’s Choice Awards live from USC’s Galen Center in Los Angeles, with the event expected to be seen by kids form over 180 countries and territories. The event will be hosted by bigger than life WWE Superstar, actor, and television host John Cena, who is said to be excited at the opportunity to host such a special event intended for young viewers.
“Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards is the biggest party for kids, and I’m so excited and honored to host this year’s show,” said Cena. “I have a lot of big surprises in store so bring on the slime!”
“John Cena’s energy and larger-than-life personality will bring the most excitement, comedy and fun to this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards,” said Shelly Sumpter Gillyard, Senior Vice President, Talent and Events for Nickelodeon. “He’s a big kid at heart, and we can’t wait to give kids around the world a front row seat to this year’s show.”
This will be the first time for Cena to host the global show, but the WWE Superstar is no stranger to the Nickelodeon family, having previously hosted Australia’s Kid’s Choice Awards in 2008, and being subjected to the infamous slime at the first UK Kids’ Choice Awards.
Sponsors of Nickelodeon’s 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards include Cinnamon Toast Crunch™, Hot Wheels®, Nintendo, Skechers®, Toyota and Walmart.
Nickelodeon’s 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards is produced by Nickelodeon Productions. Elizabeth Kelly, Michael Dempsey, Shelly Sumpter Gillyard and Jay Schmalholz are executive producers.
