Jonathan Groff Joins Cast of Disney’s Frozen

Walt Disney Animation Studios has recently announced that Tony Award nominee Jonathan Groff will be joining the voice cast of their upcoming animated comedy-adventure Frozen, with the actor set to play the gruff mountain man, Kristoff.

Frozen is described as a daring 3D CG comedy-adventure that is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen. The film is being directed by Chris Buck (Tarzan, Surf’s Up), and Jennifer Lee (Wreck-It Ralph) and is being produced by Peter Del Vecho (Winnie the Pooh, The Princess and the Frog). It has been said that Frozen is very loosely based on The Snow Queen, and focuses more on a fearless optimist named Anna, who teams up with a mountain man named Kristoff and his sidekick reindeer, Sven as they go on an epic journey to find Anna’s sister Elsa, who is the Snow Queen, in order to put an end to her spell, which is currently trapping the kingdom in eternal winter.
