Jump Force adds new characters, gets release date

At the Paris Games Week expo that’s happening this week, Bandai Namco has announced more details regarding its upcoming Jump Force video game. The crossover brawler sprawling the history of Shonen Jump properties will be adding Ryo Saeba from City Hunter and Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star to the playable roster. The company also showcased a new Paris stage inspired by the world of Saint Seiya.

Perhaps the biggest news of all is that Bandai Namco has confirmed when the game will launch. Jump Force will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC starting February 15, 2019.

Ryo, equipped with his trusted Colt Magnum, is a highly skilled gunman that rarely misses, as well as possessing extremely quick reflexes to dodge his enemy’s attacks.

On the other hand, Kenshiro, is an immensely strong expert user of the Hokuto Shinken martial arts, who is able to target and defeat his opponent brutally, swiftly and effortlessly.

Created by Tsukasa Hojo, City Hunter ran in Weekly Shonen Jump between 1985 and 1991. The series inspired a variety of anime productions from Gundam studio Sunrise from 1987 onwards. The company is currently working on a new theatrical animated adaptation due out in Japan next year. Fist of the North Star is the post-apocalyptic story told by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara that ran in the manga anthology between 1983 to 1988. A sprawling multi-media property of its own, the franchise has inspired numerous spinoffs and adaptations.
