Five new properties from Nelvana were recently licensed by International children’s channel KidsCo, consisting of Beyblade, Grossology, Rolie Polie Olie, Jacob Two-Two, and Babar. The content licensed from Nelvana, which is currently KidsCo JV partner Corus Entertainment, will be part of the channel’s January 2013 slate, when the refreshed brand is premiered on air.
“2012 has been a year of content and dubbing investment for KidsCo, with our 2013 programming line-up looking stronger than ever,” says Hendrik McDermott, managing director of KidsCo, comments. “Working closely with our strategic shareholders, Corus Entertainment and NBCUniversal, we will be delivering a completely refreshed on-air look and much stronger content proposition from January 8.”
Aside from the Nelvana properties, KidsCo has also recently licensed the show My Place and the CG animated series Sheldon. They have also commissioned Matchbox Pictures into producing Zuzu and the Supernuffs, which is scheduled to air in all KidsCo territories in 2013.
