KidsCo Unveils New Look and New Programs

International kids’ channel KidsCo will be unveiling a brand new on-air look while launching brand new programming and a fresh new website on Q1 2013. KidsCo’s new programming slate includes the original series Zuzu and the Supernuffs, which is scheduled to debut in Q2 2013.

Zuzu and the Supernuffs is currently in production at Matchbox Pictures, and will focus on the adventures of 5 intergalactic Nuffs that crashlanded on earth in an old bath tub and subsequently meet Zuzu. Together, the new group of friends spread their positive energy. The deal with Matchbox Pictures was inked earlier this year.

KidsCo will also carry additional content from KidsCo shareholder Nelvana and strategic partner Corus Entertainment. No announcements have been made regarding the specific shows that will be provided, but details are expected to come out later this year.

KidsCo also recently acquired global rights to Shelldon from Shellhut Entertainment and My Place from the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF), which is a joint venture owned by NBCUniversal and Corus Entertainment. KidsCo currently has a worldwide subscriber base amounting to 15 million.
