The TV anime Kuma Miko: Girl Meets Bear is going to start airing in April 2016. The key visual shows Machi Amayadori, the main character who’s sitting next the Natsu Kumai, the brown bear. The series features touching illustrations, which expresses the world of the characters.
The story follows the relationship between Machi, a middle school student who lives in the mountain town in the Tohoku region and Natsu, her brown bear guardian. The key visual shows the two characters relaxing beneath the ledge of a shrine. The image delicately represents the shrine maiden outfit of Machi and the shrine itself, which gives the atmosphere of the series’ world.
Casting and visual information have been released for Yoshio Amayadori, the cousin of Machi and Hibiki Sakata, her childhood friend. Kazuyuki Okitsu from Arpeggio of Blue Steel gives the voice of the cheerful and sociable Yoshio, Eri Kitamura voices the delinquent Hibiki and Natsumi Hioka gives voice to Machi.
Kuma Miko: Girl Meets Bear is from a manga by Masume Yoshimoto, which is presently serialized in Montly Comic Flapper. The anime is directed by Kiyoshi Matsuda and produced by Kinema Citrus and EMT Squared.
