The LEGO Movie Sequel Scheduled for 2017

Given the massive success of Warner Bros’ The LEGO Movie, it’s no surprise that the studio is more than willing to greenlight a sequel. However, it is a bit unexpected for them to come out and announce a release date so soon, with the studio having recently made an official announcement regarding its release date: May 26, 2017.

Warner Bros. has already announced (even before the original film debuted) that they have hired Michelle Morgan and Jared Stern to pen the script for the sequel. The first LEGO Movie was written and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, with animation by Animal Logic. Produced by Doug Davison, Roy Lee and Dan Lin, the movie features the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, Channing Tatum and Liam Neeson.
