Live Action Animated Sonic the Hedgehog Film Soon


Hajime Satomi, the Sega Sammy Holdings president and CEO said the company’s plan of creating a live-action and animation hybrid Sonic the Hedgehog film in partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment.

France’s OuiDo! Productions produced the CG-animated Sonic Boom series which premiered in 2014 on Cartoon Network. It was accompanied by 2 new games, Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal for Nintendo 3DS and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for Wii U. Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice for 3DS game is slated for September.

Sega also released an OVA (original video animation) entitled Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie in 1996 and was released on VHS and DVD.
