We’re still a couple of months away from the release of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, but Nintendo has already outlined a first for the Super Mario Bros. survival-comedy-horror spin-off: Multiplayer. What’s even better is that Dark Moon will have both local and online multiplayer, along with Download Play capabilities.
The new mode, called Hunter Mode, puts players in control of differently colored Luigis (think: Zelda’s The Four Swords) and challenges them with hunting down ghosts and using teamwork in order to clear an entire floor within a set time limit. The difficulties can be adjusted along with the number of floors. An exciting boss battle waits at the top of the floors. Doing well in the rounds provides bonuses and upgrades that can be used in the main game.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is slated for a March 24, 2013 release in North America, and will be available both as a retail copy and as a download only one via the Nintendo eShop.
