m4e’s Wissper Gets New International Broadcast Deals
Fresh off from a very successful MIPTV presentation, German brand management and media company m4e AG managed to secure a raft of new international deals for their fresh new property, Wissper. The 52-episode CG animated comedy adventure series has been picked up by ZDF’s free kids channel KiKA for Germany, while Austrian TV screens will also get the series via pubcaster ORF. The UK rights, on the other hand, has been snagged by VIMN Europe for Nickelodeon.
Wissper is also making waves in Russia, where the property is scheduled to debut this fall via Karusel. A licensing program is also scheduled for early 2017, with local agent brand4rent overseeing the roll out. Co-producer Discreet Art Productions has also secured several deals in Asia, with ZooMoo Networks leading the pack by nabbing pay TV rights for ndonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Myanmar. Free TV rights were acquired by TIGA in Thailand and Mediacorp in Singapore for its kids channel OKTO.
For the uninitiated, Wissper focuses on a little girl who has the magical ability to communicate with animals. She uses this ability to find out the animals’ problems and find solutions using creativity, resourcefulness, and compassion. The show is the brainchild of Dah Good (Waybuloo) and a co-prod effort between London animation studio Absolutely Cuckoo and m4e AG, Telegael (Ireland), Discreet Art Prod. (India) and BASTEI Media GmbH (Germany).
