Malaysian Super Hero Ejen Ali Debuts on the Big Screen

PrimeWorks Studios and Wau Animation recently made a joint announcement, which concerns the Malaysian super hero property Ejen Ali and its upcoming big screen adaptation. The theatrical release is November 28, with simultaneous screenings in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. This will mark the Malaysian series’ first foray into the full length film format.

For those not in the know, Ejen Ali the Movie’s story will revolve around the titular 12 year old boy who became a member of the Meta Advance Tactical Agency (MATA). His tasks under this secret agency involve the protection of the futuristic city of Cyberaya from outside threats. The movie follows Ejen as he discovers that he is no longer the sole master of the Infinity Retinal Intelligence System (IRIS) gadget, because MATA authorized all MATA agents to use the IRIS. As Ali questions his place within the organization, a mysterious rogue figure enters the picture and claims to have a personal connection to Ali, leading him on a dangerous chase in pursuit of a mystery.

We hope fans and movie-goers alike will show their support for Ejen Ali this coming school holiday season.”

Usamah Zaid Yasin, CEO of Wau Animation, added, “We truly appreciate the unyielding support from Ejen Ali’s die-hard fans, who motivate us to continue reaching for new heights in producing the first feature film. We hope our efforts to polish and perfect the film will exceed all the hard-won fans’ expectations.”
