Manga Version of Disney’s Big Hero 6 Licensed by Yen Press

North American publisher Yen Press has recently tweeted that they have obtained the license to publish the manga adaptation of Disney’s upcoming CG film Big Hero 6. The manga was launched in the September issue of Kodansha’s Magazine Special, which went live on August 20. This marks the first time a manga series previews a Disney movie before it opens in the theaters.

Big Hero 6 is a CG animated action comedy feature that focuses on a boy named Hiro, who has lost his brother Tadashi in a mysterious accident. His only companion is a robot developed by Tadashi named Baymax. The story is set in a fictional city that combines San Francisco and Toyo, aptly named San Fransokyo.

Big Hero 6 will open in the U.S. on November 7, and in Japan on December 19 under the title “Baymax.”
