Masha and the Bear is the First Preschool Cartoon to be Viewed in Space

Animaccord’s Russian CG short series Masha and the Bear has already proven itself to be loveable enough to transcend language barriers, becoming famous the world over even before there was a translated version, but now it does one better and actually gets a world record: Masha and the Bear has recently become the first preschool cartoon to be shown in space.

The event comes via a collaboration with Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Episode, under which a new space-themed episode of Masha and the Bear titled “We Come in Peace” was sent to the Commander of the International Space Station, Fyodor Yurchikhin, ahead of its official debut on the Masha and the Bear official Youtube channel. Roscosmos published a video of Fyodor sending his greetings to Earth while watching the episode:
