Master Jiang and the Six Kingdoms Film to be Released in 2016

UPDATE: The film’s release date has been moved to 2018.

The animated film Master Jiang and the Six Kingdoms is based on the classic Chinese tale. The trailer makes it seem like something from Studio Ghibli but believe it or not, the hand-animated sequences are made by just two individuals.

While there are numerous people involved in the making of the rest of the film (3D stuff, music, etc.), the animation, which is the centrepiece of the movie was hand-drawn. It was a painstaking process that usually involves hundreds of people to finish just a single feature film.

Knowing that just Pei Fei and Li Wei (God Hunters) put together something like this is truly extraordinary.
